I have always been concerned about weight, but not necessarily health. During my 20’s, I tried every weight loss plan, every exercise fad, and every diet pill on the market. Looking back, I really just wanted to be able to eat anything that I wanted to and still be able to fit in my “skinny jeans”. This worked for a while, on and off again, but what was I doing to myself? After years of this crazy behavior, I had a revelation. God gave me this body and I need to treat it like the gift that it is. I put so much effort into stewarding things like my finances and my relationships, but why hadn’t I looked at my health in the same light?
This wasn’t necessarily an easy transition for me. I was so used to looking at the scale to tell me how “healthy” I was. It took time, support from my family and friends, and most importantly, I had to relearn what it meant to be healthy and how to go about getting there. And boy did I learn. I became addicted to learning about nutrition and health. The more I learned, the more I couldn’t believe that this stuff wasn’t being taught everywhere. This unquenchable hunger for more knowledge led me down the path to eventually become a Certified Holistic Health Coach. I have a passion for teaching others the true impact that nutrition has on their lives and empowering them along their path toward healthy living. Maybe that means helping a mother lose 20 pounds so that she has more energy to keep up wither her kids. It could be helping someone with arthritis find out what food might be causing the inflammation in their body. Whatever the case may be, I want to help people be the healthiest version of themselves.
Currently, I live in Frisco, TX with my husband of eight years, our five year old son and one very spoiled bulldog. I love spending time with my family, playing games, sipping tea at the nearest cafe while working on my laptop, laughing, and spending time outdoors. I worked more than eight years in the corporate world before deciding to stay at home with my son when he was born. Since then, I have been a mom and an entrepreneur, and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
