Self-care is not only one of the most important things that you can do for your physical health, but it is also extremely important for your mental and emotional well-being. As a busy mom, wife and health coach, most days the only “me time” I get to myself is in the bathroom. I know this sounds funny, but think about it. Whether you are bathing, showering, brushing your teeth, skin brushing or doing your make-up, for most of us, these may be the only times during the day that truly belong only to us. We have to learn to take advantage of them and make the most out of every second. Stop looking at these tasks as a daunting list of things that have to be done before you can be presentable, but think about those things as an act of self-love and begin to enjoy them. Change your perception and your atmosphere. If you do most of these things at night, turn on some soft music, light a candle and relax before bed. This will also help you get a much better night’s sleep. If the morning is when you do most of these tasks, turn on some uplifting music, say your affirmations and start your day on a positive note. Truly begin to view this time as your own time of self-love and I promise that you will not only have the physical benefits, but you will also start to see the mental and emotional benefits in a big way!
